Cusabo Island

This project has been a beautiful test of design’s role in successful architecture.

Cusabo Island Beach Cabin is a state of the art building. The clients came to the builder, Ben Hilke of Hilke Development, with ideas for designing a very complex residence. The clients had owned acres of marshland for some time and were making the decision to build and move out there for retirement. South Beach Residence

I worked on this project to start out with when employed by Johnson Squared Architecture and Planning.  Talk about a dream project for an intern.  I started off doing some design and modeling work for the Carport/Studio and ended up drawing up the entire house.  My colleague there, Mike Rausch, came up with the early schematic design, but handed the project off to me to bring through Design Development and Permitting.
